New Parkour Park for Bexley, London

The UK’s newest ‪#‎ParkourPark‬ launches on Friday 28th August at Lesnes Abbey in Bexley, London.

Our facility development partners Freemove worked with local traceurs & the London Borough of Bexley to develop a brand new state of the art Parkour Park. The council have invested over £45,000 in the new Parkour Park to support the strong and growing Parkour Community locally.

The facility will launch on Friday 28th August 2015 with Parkour/Freerunning demos from our members Parkour Generations at 2.30- 2.45pm and 3.30 – 3.45pm which will accompanied by coaching sessions from 2.45 – 3.15pm and 3.45 – 4.15pm.

Freemove have worked closely with local tracuers/freerunners, the community and Parkour Generations to create a unique design for Lesnes Abbey that includes precision jumps elements and underbars through to dynamic laches sections that all flow together to produce a truly distinctive design that offers great usability for beginners through to advanced traceurs. Capture 2

New Parkour Park in Taunton, Somerset

Our partners Freemove recently completed the installation of a new Parkour Park in Taunton, Somerset. The facility launched in mid-Decemnber as is now open to the public and is free to access.

As more and more Parkour Parks emerge we are seeing the direct and beneficial impact of the publication of the new British Standard for Parkour Equipment, BS10075:2013. Since its publication in February 2013 it is enabling local authorities, schools, colleges, universities, sports centres, land owners, manufacturers and installers to build Parkour facilities and equipment that are fit-for-purpose, safe and to the recognised standard.

Additionally BS10075:2013 is now being developed into a European Standard with the pioneering work led by Parkour UK being used as the ‘base document’ for the development of the EN standard.

Coatbridge Parkour Park – Second phase of development

Parkour UK affiliate Coatbridge Parkour & partners Freemove  look to further develop the Coatbridge Parkour Park with a second phase of development.

They’ve just received the plans for the second phase, with the new structures providing additional obstacles & variety to the existing park. The brown sections in the drawing are the existing structures, everything else will be added when building work begins. Once the second phase is complete it will become a similar size to LEAP Parkour Park.

Needless to say that the team at Coatbridge Parkour are excited by the designs. This will be a valued addition to the existing park, but also a significant development for Parkour facilities in Scotland.

GREAT WORK! #ParkourInspiringAGeneration
