Parkour Staff

Julie Standen

Julie worked in education for over 10 years and then spent 18 months working at a parkour gym. This entailed dealing with the administration of memberships, group and professional bookings, classes and funding bids. She also worked closely with coaches, athletes and younger participants. In this time Julie also supported coaches taking their Parkour UK level 1 coaching qualification and took a coaching qualification herself. Julie also took part in adult parkour classes!

Julie enjoy going to the gym, skiing, and challenging herself to take part in activities outside of her comfort zone, such as abseiling, sky diving and scuba diving. Julie is also currently studying for a level 2 and level 3 gym instructor and personal trainer qualification.

Julie has continued to follow the sport via social media and is really excited to be part of the parkour community once again.

Simon Vardy

Simon first encountered Parkour UK back in October 2020 when he spent some time as a Parkour UK Development Associate, utilising his experience in his current role at the time within Sport Sheffield (The University of Sheffield) to help give insight into the Parkour community within higher education and the policies and procedures around university sport.

His professional career in sport began long before this following graduating from The University of Sheffield and immediately taking up a role within the sports department there, shortly afterwards moving into a development role focussed on elite and high-performance utilising experience gained through his education, playing and coaching career having represented England and GB in multiple sports.

Since then, Simon has widened his experience with roles as Head of Performance with the Sheffield Eagles RLFC and Head of Performance and S&C at Rugby League Ireland providing both performance support and education development to players and coaches and he is utilising his knowledge and experience from outside the Parkour community to help deliver new perspectives and direction within the Workforce Lead role.

Lynn Jung

In 2022 Lynn joined the Parkour UK digital team along with Callun Lavington and takes the lead in our women’s engagement project.

Lynn came across parkour while at university in Austria, where she studied sociology, politics, and gender studies. In 2015, her passion for the sport led her to the UK, where she established herself as one of the early leading female athletes in parkour. She has since worked as a freelance athlete, travelling the world, competing, training, and sharing her passion with people along the way.

Callun Lavington

Callun works at Parkour UK in the digital lead role along with colleague Lynn Jung.

Callun started parkour in 2012 after watching the famous ‘Storm Freerun – Volume One’ video. From that day, Callun had found his calling. Since then, Callun has established himself as a leading figure and advocate for mental health awareness and education within parkour. Callun coaches parkour to people of all ages in Crawley, and runs Contendunt – a mental health-focused community project promoting the inclusion and discussion of mental health in lifestyle sports. Callun also works as a freelancer in digital marketing.
