Simon Vardy

Workforce Lead

Simon first encountered Parkour UK back in October 2020 when he spent some time as a Parkour UK Development Associate, utilising his experience in his current role at the time within Sport Sheffield (The University of Sheffield) to help give insight into the Parkour community within higher education and the policies and procedures around university sport.

His professional career in sport began long before this following graduating from The University of Sheffield and immediately taking up a role within the sports department there, shortly afterwards moving into a development role focussed on elite and high-performance utilising experience gained through his education, playing and coaching career having represented England and GB in multiple sports.

Since then, Simon has widened his experience with roles as Head of Performance with the Sheffield Eagles RLFC and Head of Performance and S&C at Rugby League Ireland providing both performance support and education development to players and coaches and he is utilising his knowledge and experience from outside the Parkour community to help deliver new perspectives and direction within the Workforce Lead role.
