This year’s competition promises to be one of the most thrilling yet. Former four-time Skill division champion Tim Champion is set to make a comeback, eager to reclaim his title after narrowly losing it to Brandon Hooper of HubPTC, Boston. Meanwhile, reigning Style champion Elis Torhall, widely regarded as the greatest of all time in the category, will defend his two-year reign against North America’s best style athletes, known for their creativity and innovation.
In the Speed category, two-time reigning champion Tangui Schingen, known as "The Flying Dutchman," will attempt to retain his title as the fastest man in parkour for a third consecutive year. With an ever-growing field of elite competitors, maintaining his dominance will be no small feat.
On the women's side, reigning double champion Audrey Johnson will return to defend both her Speed and Skill titles. She faces stiff competition from last year’s Skill and Style podium finishers—who have all prequalified—as well as style legends Noa Diorgina and former SPL Style champion Elise Bickley. Additionally, current Skill champion Megan McQueen will battle against a formidable opponent in Renae Dambly, the most decorated SPL athlete of all time, who is making her highly anticipated return.
While the current roster already boasts top-tier talent, these are just the prequalified athletes. The "Road to SPL4" is paved with some of the most competitive and well-attended grassroots parkour competitions worldwide. The qualifiers begin on March 21st with Project Underground 11 in Rotherham, UK, followed by the European Championships on April 11th at Hal 5 in Belgium. The American Championships will take place this June, leading up to SPL4.
The final lineup for the main event in August is still taking shape, and we’ll be bringing you all the latest updates as the competition unfolds!
