The Sport & Recreation Alliance recently released their Reconomics 3.0 report featuring parkour & Supa XXL.
The Reconomics 3.0 report was commissioned by members of the Sport and Recreation Alliance's Water Recreation and Outdoor Pursuits divisions and has been produced in partnership with Leeds Beckett University. This report builds on the groundbreaking Reconomics report, launched in 2014, as well as Reconomics Plus, which was launched in 2017. Over the previous eight years, there have been numerous changes to the sector, including greater demand for outdoor space, increasing costs and the impacts of climate change, that have necessitated an update to the previous reports.
Sport and Recreation Alliance joined Parkour UK last year at a Supa XXL session in Triangle Estate in London. We were there together to build a further understanding on the community's thoughts and feelings on competitions within parkour.
Supa XXL is featured under "Finding 4" of the report. In this section the SRA explores SUPA XXL's history, and the open sessions they run on a weekly basis. The report covers how SUPA's sessions combine a structured session with informal social connections. SUPA fosters skill development, creativity, and community cohesion.
Its success highlights how parkour can transform city spaces into inclusive, active environments.
For Parkour UK, it demonstrates our mission to grow the sport and strengthen the local scenes, offering an inclusive space for all levels to practice and grow in a thriving national community.
