How GYMNOVA’s Brick Kit Helped Us Deliver Next-Level Public Engagement

This past weekend, Parkour UK hit the ground running at not one, but two buzzing community events — and with a big assist from GYMNOVA and their incredible Brick equipment, we pulled off some of our best public engagement yet.

With their help, we smashed two of our organisation’s biggest goals:

Show people that parkour isn’t just wild rooftop jumps — it’s about exploring your environment in a safe, creative way.

Get everyday folks actually doing parkour — right there on the spot.

Changing Minds, One Jump at a Time

At both Beats, Boards, and Barbecue and Scarborough Extreme, we set up hands-on parkour zones that drew in crowds, broke down barriers, and showed just how fun and accessible the sport can be. The game-changer? GYMNOVA’s modular Brick setup. It’s bold, flexible, and super inviting — perfect for turning any open space into a pop-up parkour playground. We saw everyone from toddlers to teens (and even a few curious parents) getting involved and loving it.

BB&B: Parkour for Everyone

At BB&B, our certified coaches teamed up with the Brick gear to help first-timers safely try out parkour. The setup was easy to tweak for the space we had, and it kept people moving all day long — vaulting, balancing, and pushing their limits.

One of the best bits? Hearing parents say they finally “get” parkour — not as something risky or extreme, but as a confidence-building, creative, and community-driven activity.

Scarborough Extreme: Adapting on the Fly

Up in Scarborough, we had three full days to connect with the crowd — and the Brick kit proved its worth again. Alongside athletes from Project Z, Toasted Magazine, and Team Reality, we ran demos and workshops that got people hyped and hands-on. The flexibility of the equipment meant we could switch up the layout each day to suit the space and the vibe. One parent told us their autistic child, who usually finds new challenges tough, was so engaged they kept trying until they nailed a move — no stress, just joy. That’s the kind of impact we’re here for.

Even on Sunday, when we were working in a more confined area beside a busy skate/BMX jam, the Brick equipment allowed us to reconfigure creatively and still deliver top-tier engagement. This led to crowds of new participants, and more than a few teenagers inspired to seek out parkour coaching.

Why It Matters

This weekend wasn’t just a win — it was proof that parkour can thrive in public spaces, with the right tools and the right team. GYMNOVA’s Brick equipment helped us:

  1. Build safe, adaptable, and eye-catching parkour zones anywhere
  2. Reach new audiences — from little kids to neurodivergent participants to girls trying parkour for the first time
  3. Show communities (and potential partners) that parkour is fun, inclusive, and genuinely transformative

These events showed just how powerful the right equipment and environment can be in unlocking grassroots sport, inspiring youth engagement, and transforming public spaces through movement. With the support of forward-thinking partners, there’s huge potential to scale this kind of energy and impact across even more communities in the UK.

We would like to thank GYMNOVA, Brick, and Phil Prince for partnering with us to make these events possible!
