Community Consultation on Competition with Sport Rec Alliance & Supa XXL

LONDON, UK. 12th march, 2025.

Recently, we had the pleasure of attending the SUPA XXL parkour training session in London, alongside our friends from the Sport and Recreation Alliance, to host a community consultation on competition in parkour.

Competition has been a hot topic in the parkour community over the last few years. As competitive parkour continues to grow, Parkour UK is committed to understanding the community’s views and discussing our role in shaping its future. This consultation provided a valuable opportunity to hear directly from practitioners about their perspectives on competition—its benefits, challenges, and potential pathways forward.

We want to give a massive thank you to Toby Flannigan & Emma Birch from Sport and Recreation Alliance for their invaluable contributions. Both spent the afternoon engaging in insightful conversations with a wide range of community members, helping us gain deeper insights into how competition fits within parkour’s culture.

Toby even arrived early to the SUPA XXL session and tried parkour himself! Meanwhile, Emma has been a continued supporter of these conversations, having previously joined us at the Coaching Convention at Nova City, Rotherham, in November 2024, where we hosted a similar consultation.

Our digital team has been hard at work filming a video project about our collaboration with the Sport and Recreation Alliance, and we’re excited to share it with you soon!

As we continue this consultation process, Parkour UK will compile and share our findings with the community soon. We want to thank everyone who has contributed to this consultation so far!
