Independent Chair
I am Chair of the Board for Parkour UK and have been in role for nearly 4 years. My role is to:

facilitate the board meetings
-
ensure that we all align behind the strategy and mission of the organisation

hold the Exec team & CEO accountable for deliverables/OKRs

and also be held accountable by Sport England for the funding we receive to support this amazing sport.
I joined Parkour UK for two reasons. Firstly my daughter is now 13 and she is better suited to unstructured sport and as a mother, I want her to be physically active. She has come with me to different events/sessions and really enjoys taking part. And secondly, I competed internationally myself (in a different sport) but have always given back through sports boards. I love contributing to the strategic direction of an organisation to ultimately help it succeed through good governance. And when I describe parkour to my friends and peers, I do think it is a truly accessible sport. It does not require facilities, a coach, nor equipment and therefore anyone can do it. And the fact that it is just as much about the psychological as well as the physical challenge. What's not to love about that!
