Parkour UK has become a Skills Development Partner with the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
Launched in 2011, CIMSPA is the professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector. CIMSPA has been awarded chartered status by the Privy Council, which came into effect at the start of January 2012.
By becoming a Skills Development Partners with CIMSPA, we are committing to ensuring the quality provision of training and assessment delivery for the future of the sport and physical activity sector is truly inspiring.
Furthermore it will ensure the development of our sectors workforce, providing each individual with essential skills and knowledge to enable them to progress in their careers and achieve recognition of their accomplishments through membership of our sectors only Chartered institute.
The work that CIMSPA is facilitating is being led by employers and is wholly supported by the Government and Sport England. CIMSPA is the only named organisation in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) ‘Sporting Future’ Strategy (2015), tasked with facilitating the development and implementation of a single, clear and rigorous set of standards for all sport and physical activity professionals.
Sport England have pledged their support in their ‘Towards an Active Nation’ Strategy (2016) to assist CIMSPA in professionalising our sectors workforce through the creation of a framework of skills, that will develop a vibrant career development pathway and provide sector staff with quality CPD to ensure our sector retains the most talented individuals.
“I would like to thank Parkour UK for supporting our sector, the CIMSPA team and I are really looking forward to working alongside your organisation in partnership, to shape the future landscape of the sport and physical activity sector.”
Tara Dillon, CIMSPA Chief Executive Officer
