Membership 2015

Following a governance review, Parkour UK implemented a new governance structure at our 2014 AGM and subsequent EGM in November 2014. One of the governance changes voted for by members was the change the categories of membership available to organisations with Parkour UK. A summary of those changes are detailed below:

Removing the voting category of ‘founding members’

  • To address the ‘Grandfather’ clause highlighted by the UK Recognition Panel & also the UK Sports Councils
  • That we only have organisations as voting members of the company/NGB and not indviduials
  • That member organisation(s) may only be represented on the Board by one director at any one time

Only have organisations in membership, no individuals. Having three voting categories:

  • Associate (no subscription fee, non-voting)
  • Affiliate (subscription fee, 1 vote)
  • Accredited (subscription fee, 2 votes) – only available to members that have previously held an Affiliate membership for 1 year or more and have successfully applied for and attained PK Mark

(Please see further down for the various benefits attached to each level of membership)

Introduction of annual membership fees for members.

  • Membership fee for Associate = FREE
  • Membership fee for Affiliate members is = £100+VAT per member organisations + statutory insurance fee
  • Membership fee for Accredited members is = £100+VAT per member organisations + statutory insurance fee (Once member are eligible for this category of membership)

As of the 2014 AGM and subsequent EGM in November 2014 ALL members at that current time & any new members taken into membership would now default to Associate category membership, until the 2015 membership cycle is launched and available for members and/or new members to select their category of membership for 2015.
