Dr Tracy Rea’s career history to date spans over varying industries. Tracy has recently finished two years as the European Head of Human Capital/People at Laing O’Rourke within construction. Previously Tracy worked as a Product Owner with the Agile Centre of Excellence within Group Transformation at Lloyds Banking Group. And the early days of her career were grounded within high performance sport, having previously been employed as Performance Director of Scottish Gymnastics in the lead up to the 2014 Glasgow: Commonwealth Games, as well as competing internationally herself. Tracy’s PhD examines the concept of talent transfer within sport and this was this was the stimulus for Tracy to try and prove the hypothesis herself across industries and roles, hence the reason behind her move from sport to banking and then construction. Tracy also holds the role of non-executive director on the board of CIMSPA: Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity in the UK as well as Chair of the Disciplinary panel.
Tracy is passionate about volunteering in the sport sector and felt Parkour was a unique opportunity to drive a different agenda to the traditional governing body. Indeed her 9-year-old daughter knew more about the sport before Tracy started researching it. And with Tracy having completed her Masters in Sport Psychology, the concept of overcoming a challenge mentally as well as physically, was something she found intriguing.
